The Historic Area of Vila Flor captivates us by the way it manages to bring together monuments and points of interest in a short distance. A few metres from Largo do Pelourinho we find the Mother Church of Vila Flor, the old Jewish quarter, and the Dom Dinis Arch, as well as the Roman Fountain. Closer to Praça da República we can discover the Dr Berta Cabral Municipal Museum, where unique pieces can be found, such as a gold coin from the time of the Visigoths in the Iberian Peninsula or the Manueline Foral of Vila Flor, royal document that was the basis for the municipal foundation. Opposite the Museum are the Entrance Gates to the Tua Valley: an interactive space that aims to promote tourism and the cultural and biological diversity that can be found in this territory. Close to the Historic Area, and in the heart of Praça da República, an arts centre is being built with the name of a great painter from Vila Flor, Graça Morais.
