A project is underway to enhance and promote the region's gastronomy and food products, as well as all those who contribute to it. The project includes an application to UNESCO's List of Good Practices of Intangible Cultural Heritage, and several requests for inscription on the List of Traditional Portuguese Products, by the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development.
