Inaugurated in 2008, the CACGM is a reference architectural project by the architect Souto Moura, Pritzker Prize of 2011.
The dynamics of this art centre is based on a program of temporary exhibitions of the most renowned national and foreign artists of our days and large collections of Contemporary Art, resulting from co-productions and partnerships with other national and international reference institutions.
The CACGM also has a nucleus of seven rooms dedicated to the work of the painter Graça Morais, in a frequently renewed exhibition program, reinforced by other multidisciplinary initiatives, namely educational programs, artistic practice workshops, concerts, performances and editorial activities.
The cafeteria with terrace and the small garden are also a privileged place to complement the enjoyment of this unique space, a paradigm of contemporary architecture and art.
