R. do Arco, 5370-408 Mirandela
41.485617, -7.182961
From the primitive wall of the castle of Mirandela, only the Santo António gate remains, formed by a pointed arch in granite and schist stonework. It has a terrace of a private house above, which was originally the area of the chemin de ronde (wall-walk). It was through this door that the most direct communication was made with the bridge and the river. The Santo António Street, where the arch is located, was once the busiest and most commercial street in town. Inside the arch you can still see the grooves of the old iron gate’s hinges.
